From Residential Driveways to Superhighways

The Golden Eagle Construction story began in 1965, when William R. “Bill” Snoddy started Fayette Construction Company. He started with five employees and their first job was a residential driveway.

By 1968 Fayette Construction had begun to build a solid reputation for performance and quality, and had purchased a one-ton asphalt plant. The year 1970 was a landmark year, as Bill bought a bigger asphalt plant and formed Golden Eagle Construction.

As the company grew, they installed the first automated asphalt plant in the area, in 1971.

Today Golden Eagle has one asphalt plant in Washington County, two plants in Uniontown, and a fourth plant in Greene county. While Golden Eagle Construction was becoming a leader in asphalt manufacturing and paving, the company was looking at options that would improve their performance. The answer was to purchase – and completely renovate – Coolspring Stone Supply in 1987, launching BSC Trucking in 1988, and acquiring Gavco Materials in 2004. The result is four great companies, working together.
